Will Acts of Sovereignty Lead to the Demise of the United States ?

One would have to think the actions being taken by a number of states and their legislatures is merely posturing and finger waving. But these legislative edicts are signs of a growing discontent with overfederalization into the lives and policies of states and their citizens. The 10th Amendment of The Bill of Rights has been violated so much and so deeply it basically no longer exists for all intents and purposes. Hawaii is so disgusted that they are actually in the process of trying to claim sovereignty to the point where they could secede from the union. Montana has a vast amount of legislation in the works that will negate any federal intrusion on the issues of firearms rights and possession, and the legislation has muscle behind it. A number of other states have take smaller, yet visible, steps as well.

While it is strongly doubtful that any of this will lead to a partial dissolution of the United State, the seeds may be laid for a future escalation, and this could develop sooner than most of us can imagine.
