The Wisdom and Insight of V.B. Price

http://newmexicoindependent.com/24384/time-to-face-possibility-of-losing-every-drop-from-colorado-river

The water woes facing the West are unimaginable; this is just another climate jolt that is looming in the next decade.

Spending Away Our Future

http://www.sltrib.com/ci_12098916

The Federal Reserve continues to print money and spend it like there is no tomorrow. This gross misconduct and utterly woeful judgement will lead to harsh inflation soon, a noteworthy downturn in the standard of living, and doom the children and young adults of today to lives substantially worse and economically burdened. Out with Bernanke !

And here is the smoke from a distant fire about to blow up and spread ....

The end of American consumerism largely ?...

More on the insanity and madness of Bernanke and the hapless Federal Reserve:

And Kevin Phillips see increased painful inflation commencing harshly in a matter of months --- look out... our money is going to be worth a lot, lot less sooner than we realize !!

http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE53790N20090408!

It may be back to the 1970s when we had annual inflation most years around 10 % or more. That will look nice compared to what is going to happen starting this summer and into the 2010s for a good number of years.

The Dead On Honest Truth about America's Biggest Hustler

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/07/republican-caller-tells-l_n_184244.html

The latest on what the porker flimflam man Limbaugh stands for: torture, tyranny, and disdain for those who have served our country. The Bloods and Crips can't take this guy out fast enough, putting him in sanitarium.

Another Hustler and the Facts

http://rogerebert.suntimes.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=%2F20090407%2FCOMMENTARY%2F904079997%2F-1%2FRSS

And here is another big whack job, O'Reilly, who really has gone off the deep end since the Obama election evidently. He needs a bed right next to the flimflam man in the nearest funny farm.

Star Trek in Australia

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/04/08/star-trek-launches-down-u_n_184539.html

I think the new Star Trek movie, which comes out in about a month, will be somewhat awkwardly received. From what I have seen from previews and trailers, it has a rather dark and sullen look to it; not at all upbeat and bright like the original series. Many people will go to see it once, and the film will be like a shooting star rather quickly falling in the rankings and not making nearly as much money.

Road Work !

http://www.indenvertimes.com/wp-content/uploads/media/Spring2009TW.pdf

List of most of the highway projects in the Denver metro area arising from the federal stimulus legislation. Its a nice start, but it only gets the region from the goal line to maybe just the home five yard line. I will blog about this more in the coming weeks...

The Future May Not Be Bright Personally

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB123905105150794313.html?ref=patrick.net

This could be the fate of my brothers as well as myself within the next few to several years as we age, experience downturns in our health, become increasingly unemployable, and suffer from a lack of income to maintain our independence.

NCAA Hockey: Where Cinderella Lives

http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/hockey/2009-04-08-bemidji-state_N.htm

This tiny college in the far and remote north of Minnesota is the ultimate cinderella and the squad I am rooting for to win the Frozen Four starting this afternoon against Miami OH from Washington DC.

Baby Fat News

Fascinating discovery which will have significant ramifications in the future for the health of all of us.

The Ongoing End of an Addiction and Disgusting Habit

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la-me-smoking9-2009apr09,0,3317028.story

13 %, a significant decline from 23 % just 20 years earlier. At this rate smoking will all but disappear in CA by 2030. Too bad most other states cannot accomplish this, particularly my own state of WY where smoking rates are in excess of 22 % still like every rural state in the nation.

A Sharp Broad Change in Thinking

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/general_politics/just_53_say_capitalism_better_than_socialism

Corporate Capitalism/State Capitalism, what we have had in the last three decades, is very bad. Corporations need to be kept small, limited, strongly regulated, with a tiny market share and with massive competition that is easily able to entered into. Socialism should include utilities, transportation, health care, and other basic needs.

Senseless Tragedy in Anaheim

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=4055343

Stunning shocking senseless death of a rising young player for the Anaheim Angels. Very tragic. I just watched part of the game he pitched earlier in just last night which the Angels ended up losing late after Adenhart had shut out the A's in his six innings of work. Big loss for the Angels family and fans.

Understanding the Definition of Broadband

http://www.scienceprogress.org/2009/04/much-ado-about-broadband/

Info and stats on broadband internet speed in different nations. The United States is among the slowest and yet most expensive. Blame it on Comcast and other cable corporations putting profits first and the public last. They need to be carved up into tiny pieces and put under strict regulation from various levels of government.

Pure Silliness

http://blogforcleanair.blogspot.com/2009/04/obama-science-guy-maybe-fake-trees.html

I don't know where such a cuckoo idea was come up with. This is about as ridiculous an idea as setting up giant mirrors in space to block the sun.
