TUE 5 January News Article & Opinion

A few noteworthy items I observed in recent days:

Dorgan Bows Out, Ensuring GOP Gains

This is quite surprising as Byron Dorgan from North Dakota opts to retire after three terms in the US Senate, which all but endures the GOp will regain fillibuster numbers again to block any much need progressive federal legislation in the Senate during the 2o11-2012 term. If he is not a lameduck already, Obama will certainly soon be in less than one year.

Housing Prices and Values Still Continue to be Out of Kilter

The current structure of prices and values remains still too high from a historical viewpoint, as well as from a point of being fair, just, and family-friendly. And individuals, families, neighborhoods, communities, and society suffers from the overpricing and overvaluation.

The U-3 unemployment picture and statistics in cities and metros nationally. To be really honest about what the real numbers, increase them by at least 75 % and probably more than double them in many cases. To say it is grim or horrible is to still understate the depth of the problem.
