This Washington Post article gives a list of some names that could merit serious consideration by the nominees for the presidency in each party. On the GOP side, Huckabee is listed in this article, but I also think Romney may be considered seriously if he does not rally to win over McCain. Pawlenty and Sanford are governors of relatively smaller states with inadequate electoral importance, but Bush dubbed Cheney from a state that has always had absolutely zero electoral significance, Wyoming, and it did not make any difference. For the Democrats, there are some good names being suggested for Obama in Virginia's Kaine and McCaskill from a critical swing state, Missouri. For the favorite Clinton, the choice of Clark would be an attempt to try to offset the military experience of likely GOP nominee McCain, but Richardson, Strickland, and Bayh may be of greater assistance being from a critical demographic or swing state in play. Other names are also likely to emerge with the decision by the presidential nominee of both parties likely not to announce their choices until June at the earliest.*****
