Some Things Never Change

Incompetence and Ineptitude is a long standing tradition and hallmark of government and much of life in New Mexico. Taking days to tally vote totals and winners in elections is something that never seems to change in the Land of (dis-)Enchantment, aka Land of Manana (Tomorrow, or why hurry to get something done today when there always is tomorrow). The 1974 gubernatorial election between Joe Skeen and eventual winner Jerry Apodaca took well over a week to be processed and having a winner determined and announced. Numerous other elections over the years were similar. Hopefully New Mexico will have finalized the vote totals and get that one delegate awarded by the time the Democratic National Convention commences in late August. It could be close, though.
