10:15pm
It looks like things are in the perfect SNAFU in NM as no results are in over three hours after the polls closed
As it reaches past 10:30pm MST, only 3 of the 43 results remain to be decided. McCain has done well on the Republican side, winning the biggest states along with some key heartland states and his home state, while Huckabee has succeeded in the South and Romney in his two home states and the Northern Rockies and Northern Plains. On the Democratic side, Obama has done well across the South and much of the West while Clinton does superbly with wins in the big states, Southwest, and Southern Plains. Results still await from Alaska Republicans, and Democrats in Missouri and New Mexico.
At midnight MST, results have only yet to be decided from New Mexico Democrats and Alaska Republicans. McCain is closer to the GOP nomination but he did not clinch it. But both Romney and Huckabee face extremely long odds to overcome McCain. On the Democratic side, Clinton still holds a narrow edge over Obama, but it looks like he is gaining additional momentum. For Obama to win 13 states to just 8 for Clinton is an enormous accomplishment. One would think Obama will do well in the upcoming primaries and caucuses in states like Nebraska, Louisiana, DC, Maryland, and Virginia. We will all stay tuned.
A final update, report, and observations will be forthcoming Wednesday evening after 5pm MST.
** FINAL UPDATE **: Delegate totals for each caucus and primary current as of 7pm MST Wednesday 6 February. All winning results finalized. Delegate totals likely to change over next three days.
