Tough New Laws Resulting in Illegal Immigrants Departure

Rigid strict laws were enacted in Oklahoma and Arizona in 2007 to deter the ability of illegal immigrants to exist and thrive in those states. Recent findings show the laws are working. Reports of a reversal in numbers of illegals in those two states are widespread. This is truly a success story at this point. However, some if not most of the decline could also be due to the significant economic downturn occuring nationally, particularly in the housing and construction industries. Illegals often made up large numbers of workers in those industries and with widespread losses occuring, the illegals may have decided to simply relocate to other states where the economy is stronger and more diversified or even maybe back to their homelands. Mexico currently may very well be enjoying its best national economy in the history of that nation.
