If a column by an understanding expert on economic conditions can be this gloomy on 11 November, one can only imagine how glum observations are today. The cold hard facts are the economy is very bad, and moving increasingly towards rivaling the worst of times seen over 70 years ago. What will it take for things to be reversed ? Most believe it will take a number of events to occur, starting with a bottoming of home values that will start a number of other dominos to start toppling again. With an overall forecast of a 29 % decline in home values in 2009 on top of the 30 % decline seen in the last 18 months or more, it is going to be awhile before things get going into a positive direction again.
