Physically Attending College Soon to Be Passe

http://features.csmonitor.com/innovation/2009/04/21/byu-professor-colleges-obsolete-by-2020/

I believe the conclusions in the piece are true. Todays teenagers are the last of the college students we have known for several generations. Todays preschoolers will not physically attend college or university as new better alternatives will continue to emerge and become established.

Matt Drudge Has Jumped The Shark

http://features.csmonitor.com/innovation/2009/04/22/yes-matt-drudge-still-matters-for-now/

The Drudge Report website has become quite stale and less than the best source for information (Common Dreams and Buzzflash are so much better), but it continues on even as its mirror the Drudge Retort has much better well rounded content. The Drudge Report has become a conduit for celebrity gossip and right wing propaganda in many ways for the most part.

The Good of Obama versus the Evil of Limbaugh on Earth Day

http://features.csmonitor.com/politics/2009/04/22/its-earth-day-obama-and-limbaugh-celebrate-it-differently/

Ah, the human embodiment of walking (actually waddling), living human reeking flatulence, the portly flimflam man of shysterdom, Limbaugh the First...The First Party Secretary....

The Unsettling Solar Silence in Space

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/8008473.stm

The decreased solar activity and strength is not resulting in a diminishment of global temperatures and warming. So all those whack-adoo theories of global cooling and a new ice age now underway are pure poppycock and goobledygook.

General Motors Continues Slow Death March

http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/GM-idle-most-US-plants/story.aspx?guid={B0B9EFB7-C3BE-447A-8AC4-4F7DD3D6BCCA}#comments

This is the continuance of the end for General Motors, as they will go into bankruptcy and possiblyliquidate their remaining inventory during these weeks, following closely on Chrysler's heels as Chrysler will go the same route with an announcement either next week or the first week in May. By September only Ford will remain in Detroit, but perhaps for not much longer either.

Health Risks and Concerns with Diet Pops and Sodas

http://health.msn.com/nutrition/articlepage.aspx?cp-documentid=100236887&GT1=31036

I drink diet pop extremely very rarely, with the exception of Coke Zero which I have about once per month. Diet never tastes good when compared to non-diet, but I am convinced both are very bad for one, and higher use taxes should be placed on the product for all the health repurcussions it is having on society; consumption and possession should be made illegal for those under age 16.

M*A*S*H: Incomparably Great, Classic, and Timeless

http://www.usatoday.com/life/television/news/2009-04-22-mash-tvland_N.htm?csp=34

Still the greatest television show ever, even better than Star Trek: TOS. The episodes, characters, writing, plots, drama, issues, and humor are timeless. If I have to make a choice, I would say its my all time favorite.

The Legacy of Over a Half-Century of Misjudgements

http://www.azcentral.com/business/articles/2009/04/22/20090422biz-ColdWarStimulus0422.html

Lots of taxpayer money being spent on terrible residues of past decisions and an overall blatant lack of knowledge. Anyone whom is pro-nuclear power plants is utterly and totally misguided and completely uninformed.

Alternative Online to Rocky Mountain News Fails, Ends

http://www.denverpost.com/breakingnews/ci_12205372

I hope these ex-Rocky Mountain News journalists, many whose works I read for over 20 years, are able to continue to provide an alternative news and information source despite this financial setback. As of the closing days of April, the websites iwantmyrocky.com and insidedenver.com have vanished unfortunately.
